Very pleased with this company all around. Received a quote that was cheaper than the competition and spending less did not come at a sacrifice to quality. They were able to come a lot sooner than the other quotes I got as well. So it really was an easy decision. The gentleman (Jim) who came to my home to quote the job was incredibly knowledgeable. He clearly enjoys what he does and took time giving me some care tips for my various plants and trees. I was leaning early on going with the larger companies with a certified arborist but Jim’s knowledge and attentiveness sold me. The team showed up on time and cleaned up well. No complaints. For the job our neighbor has a gnarly fig tree that took a beating from the freeze and some bugs. Needed many large heavy limbs cut. First image is after the cut second is showing the “infected” limbs.
Tree stump grinding in Melbourne, FL
Right Coast Tree Care provides professional tree stump grinding for homeowners across Melbourne and Brevard County.
Expert Tree stump grinding in Melbourne, FL
A leftover stump does more than look bad. In Melbourne's humid climate, exposed wood breaks down fast and draws termites, ants, and other pests. Those pests can spread to healthy trees or nearby structures. Stumps also create tripping hazards in yards where kids and pets play. Roots left unchecked can push up against fences, driveways, and irrigation lines over time. Right Coast Tree Care grinds stumps below soil level so the surface is clean, level, and ready for grass, new plants, or hardscaping. Florida's sandy soil means buried roots break down naturally after grinding, making this the practical choice for most Melbourne-area residential properties. Owner Ryan Ward built his career managing tree operations across Florida, overseeing everything from customer service to crew production. That background means your job is handled with clear communication and real attention to how the work affects your property. We serve Melbourne, Palm Bay, Rockledge, Merritt Island, Satellite Beach, Titusville, and surrounding Brevard County communities.

Tree stump grinding FAQ
Common questions about tree stump grinding in Melbourne, FL.
Stump grinding causes minimal disruption to the surrounding lawn. The process leaves wood chip mulch in the void, which can be raked level or removed.
Yes, you can plant grass over a ground stump once the area is filled and leveled. Planting a new tree directly in the same spot works best after the remaining roots have had time to break down in the soil.
Stump grinding removes the visible stump down below soil level but leaves the roots in the ground. In Florida's sandy soil, those roots break down naturally over time.
We grind stumps several inches below ground level, which is enough to allow grass or landscaping to grow over the area. Deeper grinding is available if you plan to build or install hardscaping in that spot.
Decaying stumps in Brevard County's humid climate attract termites, ants, and fungi faster than in drier regions. Grinding removes that risk and frees up usable yard space.
Yes, Right Coast Tree Care grinds palm stumps, oak stumps, and other common Florida tree species throughout Merritt Island and the surrounding area. Palm stumps have dense, fibrous composition, but the right equipment handles them cleanly.
